Masía La Mota is the setting for a pairing dinner with wines from the Cup de La Muntanya winery, located in Planes, a beautiful inland town in the province of Alicante. This winery is part of the D.O. Vinos de Alicante and offers us a tasting together with the dishes prepared by our talented chef Evenor Sevilla Faus.

The tasting will be led by Hilario Calabuig who will give a brief guided tasting of each of the wines and then the corresponding dish will be tasted, a real experience because we will be tasting wines from our area with dishes chosen by Chef Evenor Sevilla, head chef at Masia La Mota.

Pricing and reservations

The price is 45 € per person and only this menu will be served that night. It will start at 20:30 and seating is limited to 30 people.

A round-trip shuttle service is available for 5€ per person upon request at 8:00 pm.

Brief history of Masia La Mota

Masia La Mota Restaurant is located in the space that used to be the old oil mill of the estate. It is a restaurant that offers beautiful views as it is surrounded by centenary olive trees located on the slopes of the Font Roja Natural Park and on the other side is the Serra de Mariola mountain range, very close to the city of Alcoy in Alicante. It is part of the complex known as Masia La Mota, an old typical Valencian farmhouse dedicated to agricultural activity that gradually declined since the mid-20th century due to its low profitability. Its current owners, the Panamanian couple formed by Edgar Ameglio and Indira Amaya de Ameglio, have recovered this activity, producing for the last four years a premium quality extra virgin olive oil that you can taste with the homemade bread that will be offered during the tasting. Masía La Mota has a serious commitment to promoting local Km 0 products and small producers.

Masia La Mota Restaurant was born 7 years ago as a gastronomic proposal in the inland area of Alicante, taking great care of the quality of the raw material, offering dishes of the traditional cuisine of the area and Spanish cuisine in general.

Its chef Evenor Sevilla Faus is one of the best cooks in the area. He began his training in cooking in 2003 at the school of hotel management and tourism in Valencia.

Brief history of the Cup de la Muntanya Winery

Located in the Alicante municipality of Planes, a village at the foot of a Muslim castle with sturdy walls dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, it is highly recommended if you are in the area to take a stroll and eat in one of its bars. The cherry blossom and the cherry harvest are not to be missed.

This winery was created as an initiative of producers from the Alicante Mountains, seeking to create natural wines where they control the entire production cycle and the fermentation of the wine.

They produce a red wine called Solana del Duc which is made from Cabernet and Garnacha grapes with 14% Alc. by volume of 750 ml.

The name of this wine is due to the “great duc” or eagle owl, a nocturnal bird of prey of majestic flight that inhabits our lands in Alicante.

The white wine is called Albakar, made from the Viognier variety from small dry-farmed vineyards, which gives it special characteristics. The result is a harmonious, straw-coloured, fresh, dry wine with fruity aromas. Contains 13% Alc. by Vol. of 750 ml.

The name of the wine is in honour of this mountainous area influenced by the mild climate and surrounded by vegetation.
