As autumn sets in, the peculiar chromatic variety of this season covers the landscape of the Font Roja Natural Park, considered one of the best representations of the Valencian forest, with warm tones.
In the Font Roja you can appreciate this peculiar transformation in the autochthonous flora where the tonality of the toasted leaves of the ash trees contrasts with the green evergreens of the rattlesnakes and pines. Creating a stunning variety of landscapes for nature lovers and photographers.
In order to appreciate all the beauty of this spot, there are several hiking routes that run through the Font Roja. As we go deeper into the routes we can observe species of trees made up of Kermes oaks (Quercus Rotundifolia), bushes and shrubs. such as buryl (Viburnumrinus burilo), hawthorn (Crataegus monoguna), lianas such as ivy (Hedera helix), honeysuckle (Lonicera impelía) or rubia (Rubia peregrina). There is also the occasional yew (Taxus baceta), a tree that is characteristic for its slow growth and the mysterious and magical stories that surround it.
During this walk it is possible to observe the characteristic fauna of this area, a refuge for sublime birds such as the Bonelli’s eagle (Hieraetus fascitus), the peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinos), as well as the eagle owl (Buho bubo), the crossbill and the robin.
It is an experience worth living for nature lovers, and to recharge your batteries you can taste the typical gastronomy of the area, made with local products.
