We are referring to any hotel that is doing their best to adequately meet sustainability requirements in order to protect our environment.
Any establishment that considers themselves Eco-Friendly or environmentally sustainable, has a basis in their design and management strategies that aims to respect the environment and biodiversity through permanent ethics that improve the quality of life for all humanity, both present and future.
Hotel Masía la Mota has had these ideals in mind since its inception and only continues to improve daily.
Sustainable hotels in Alicante
Below, we describe a few of the measures that we practice in order to contribute to our environmental sustainability:
- Continuous worker training on environmental awareness and the necessity to respect our ecosystem
- Our own water source that is periodically analyzed and always records excellent results
- Our own oxidation treatment plant for waste on the farm
- An heating system that is supplied with natural gas rather than diesel, which is more environmentally friendly
- Optimization of our air conditioning use through an hourly management system that reduces operation by more than 50%
- Room Sanitization achieved through dehumidification, which allows us to lower our energy consumption
- In order to ensure the best functionality and our respect for ecology, we have implemented new wastebaskets in order to ensure that toilet paper no longer gets flushed down the toilet. In addition, the hotel has its own internal recycling containers to differentiate between plastic, glass, cardboard and organic materials, which we make sure to deposit in the proper bins here in Alcoy.
- Just before the arrival of our guests, we use environmentally friendly insecticides and disinfectants in order to keep insects that are so typically found in any rural environment at bay.
- Our pool is treated with electrolysis instead of chlorine to keep it naturally clean
- We have installed a rainwater harvesting system that typically collects water through the winter so that we may use it for our garden and plant irrigation throughout the year
- A smoke-free hotel with designated outdoor areas for cigarette use complete with ashtrays to keep our Font Roja environment as clean as possible.
- We have substituted all our light bulbs for LED bulbs to maximize sustainability initiatives
- We have also implemented double glazed windows in 100% of our establishment with cork walls and insulated roofs in order to improve energy use.
- Linen and towel reuse program
- When our guests wish to go out on excursion, we offer a free backpack service where they can deposit any waste and carry it back with them to the hotel so that we may lessen the burden on our natural surrounding by disposing and recycling the materials ourselves
