A little bit of history about the wineries that will be the protagonists of this tasting
Tarsus Winery
Since 1998 and whose slogan says: In the heart of Ribera del Duero
On their website you can find all the information about their location, their wines and their winery, but we would like to share with you that Tarsus makes its wines from its own selected terroir, seeking to extract excellence and the best of the local varieties.
The harvest and vinification processes are carried out by parcels and all this under the strict supervision of its oenologist, Teresa Rodríguez, who has become the author and responsible for obtaining wines with deep aromas, high concentration and ageing potential.
A curious fact is that the name Tarus comes from Tarsus, the name of a city in Cilicia, in Asia Minor, the cradle of the wine civilisation.
Azpilicueta Winery
The history of Bodegas Azpilicueta dates back to 1881 when Félix Azpilicueta Martínez created the winery in a small vineyard in Fuentmayor and became a pioneer in winemaking.
One of the most relevant figures in the history of Rioja wine is Félix Azpilicueta Martínez, who, with his dynamism, took charge of a small vineyard in Fuentmayor and thus went down in history because he innovated the whole area by participating in the first exports of Rioja wines.
All this has led to the winery becoming a well-known brand and one of the most prestigious in Spain.
